Netflix, the originator of the rent-dvds-at-home business model has been doing successful business for quite a number of years now. This summer Netflix is offering tempting deals to counterbalance the emergence of Blockbuster Total Access. In addition, they’re started to deal with obvious successes with their business model. Saturation and popularity is starting to flood the market (think about how many people that you know have Netflix already). It’s a rock solid service that is already offered at a cheap price. It is even cheaper now with Netflix current promotion.

No-one ever talks about the side features of the service….Have pals or family on Netflix? You are able to add them and through this easy interface to what movies your buddies or family have been watching and see their comments on the films. I have just started using this feature, but am already hooked on it. Thru the Netflix community, you may also read reviews of films entered by other Netflix members together with building film lists others can view.

$20 is a bit steep but it is so easy to just open the post box a watch some films. We go down to the video store to keep the local independent going but we find ourselves taking notes of what films to queue up on Netflix.

Though Netflix claims unlimited rentals for the plans which permit three or more out at a time, they effectively limit the amount of flick you may receive per week to one times the plan number.

For example, if you’ve got a three at a time plan and you customarily return movies they day after you receive them you might in prinicple receive six flicks per week but, Netflix will effectively limit you to three flicks per week on average. This is achieved by delayed confirmation of returned films, delayed shipping of flicks, and shipping of pictures from distant distribution centers to balance inventory.

To do this is a rather complicated programming task that involves statistics research of such stuff as use info, inventory, and the data folk enter in their queue. This information also is used to establish how many copies of films to buy to maintain reasonable availability.

So I have had netiflix on and off for the last four years. I did not have an issue with them till the last six months when it required over a week for my flicks to be checked in. I’m going to the post office to return the films. Don’t let me know it requires a week for them to be turned in.

Not just that I put all my pictures in one huge manila envelope and they only checked in half them ( Im on the eight out at a time plan ). I searched low and high for the telephone number, and they told me “well perhaps you only put in some of the movies” and that was after waiting on hold for over twenty mins.

They are good at first and then they start playing their throttle game. I have been a member many times and it ends the same way. Their claims of unlimited rentals is a lie. They play games like not checking your flicks in for a couple of days, then posting processing for many more, then shipping in a few days, and so on.

That is the way you’ll get limited after a pair months. Then to contact shopper service is very unlikely, it does not exist.

Like I claimed they’re good at first but you may quickly be limited.

When I’m going to the video store, I never know what flick to get.

I look through the complete store and am often left uncertain. And I typically don’t finish up with great movies. Video stores have a tendency to be excessively populated with newly released films. With Netflix, I can scan thru all of the movies I need to watch.

I am able to surf the web for the top 100 films of a genre on their best-ever lists. Netflix even has a film rating system where you can rate each picture you have seen. With Netflix, the films I’ve been watching have been better suited for me.
